I have been playing this level so long and have learned to "HATE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!" I can't get to level 228!!!!!!!!!!!

Aim for the buckets so the water drops can fall right where the ice is so you can collect the alligator.

@Chicken_Slayer, @Rancid, any other tip you can share?

Pretty much what you said @QueenB "You need to get the water to splash out over to the level where the eggs are. 
As soon as they do that and a drop fills in the space between the iced water, the ice breaks and your water goes and the eggs drop down and you have a dragon."

I'm just checking the video is still current

You beat me to it @Chicken_Slayer

In my opinion, there is another way. You could use your animal companion to fill the water buckets.
