Red and green envelopes

When I start a new level it comes up with the top players.
they either have a green open envelope or a red closed envelope underneath them. I can tick the red ones to turn green BUT what do these envelopes mean or do exactly?

@sueolliesand Hi and welcome, When you turn a envelope green basically you are being nice and sending that person a life.

The Red Envelope means that the other players are open to receive a life from you.
And when you click on that Red Envelope, you have sent a life to that individual player, and hence it turns Green 😊
** Sometimes, you see an Envelope that's already turned Green -- it means that, you have sent them a life earlier either through a request you have received OR through the main "Envelope" icon that is located at the top of the screen.
