Hi Farmers. Totally off topic here but saw this pop up on another sites feed. Do you fancy a game of would you rather?

So I will start with a tame one.
Would you rather....lose the ability to speak, or lose the ability to read? (Can you tell I was in a reading group at the time 🤣)

In my case, I would rather lose the ability to speak because I actually interpreted non-verbal communication to others, and since they could understand the signals (being something logical) they knew what I was trying to say.😏
I have tried to do sign language, although I can only do some of them.
On the other hand, they can understand the ideas that I mentally raise, and I also don't create discussions with anyone (even if it leads to violence) so it is a disadvantage.😅

I hadn't thought of that @AaronMedina sign language is something that is often used in place of but not always thought of. I know some schools have started teaching it which is brilliant.
And if you can't speak you can at least write things down!
Personally I would rather lose that to...I love reading, it comes as naturally as breathing and listening to it isn't the same.

I'd like to lose my ability to speak. because I can get along with sign language somehow. maybe a device will be made that will voice the thought with technology in the future. 😊
To read is to understand, learn, apply and develop oneself. To add value to oneself is to understand life. does not need to speak for that.

Your question is tricky
I think I would rather lose the ability to hear because like with speech, we could use alternatives and write down. We would miss so much if we couldn't see 🙄 Especially books!!

@ndaoz I like your thinking. I know they already have computers that can detect from movement to speak for people...I am thinking of people like Stephen Hawking. But who knows with computers they seem to do everything these days.
And you are right about reading, it opens up the world and our minds so much.
