Produce booster not filling properly

The booster in the top right corner that is supposed to fill when the selected item is collected doesn't work properly in my mobile app game. It only fills when I make matches of 4 or more of ANY items, not just the selected item (produce, sun, etc). I've installed all the updates. I've contacted the developer by email and the directed me here. I don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall because I know I'll loose my other boosters (shovels, tractors, etc)

Any suggestions?

This is the new release of the Companions Feature and the difference from the previous is that you no longer have to collect a certain number of cropsies but you have to match 4 or more cropsies to fill the bar. We are sorry but this Feature has been changed and our lovely Community Manager opened a thread about it and you can write your feedback ! Please click on the green link: New Companion Match
