I have many free moves but when i click on the icon it takes away a move but doesn't give it to me

When you said "free moves", by any chance, are you talking about the +1 boosters?

I have taken a screenshot from my game and for your convenience, I have added a square around the booster, so that you can identify it quickly😉

Can you please clarify?

Extra moves gets automatically applied to the next level on your map. The icon that shows how many moves you have on the level should glow with purple/pink color indicating that extra moves has been added to the level.

Can you show us a screenshot of what is looks like in your game and have a closer look?
