Greetings Team, i would first like to thank you for your unlimited kindness with us, and how your MCs are very communicative with us, as they let us know why some don't have companions. Aldou when i heard you had problems with making new animals and that you might eventually run out of ideas for new animals, i felt as tho to send you some ideas and reasons as to why i believe some ideas are good in the long run.
First of all, i highly believe that you shouldn't permanently remove the Farm Club and its animals, as i think the animals and the animal levels give replay value if you like collecting all of them, which many match 3 games can't say. Unlike Farm Heroes, they don't have the replayability value at any level, as the genre is more focused on the next big level. This is why i believe the Farm Club and its animal levels provide a very missing thing about the genre, and have a good reason for replayability, which is:
Collecting as many animals as you can, and if interested, all of them.
That is another reason why i am of the high belief that the Farm Club should not be removed, they give out a great reason to play more, to collect. You see, there are many games that implement collectibles for the most dedicated, and match 3s are also not really known for that, Farm Heroes Saga, on the other hand, has a big list of Animals you can collect, for great rewards, which encourages more people than just the dedicated to collect them, either be for the pure faction of having them all, for to have an animal to deal with a level they struggle at.
Speaking of levels, another reason why companions are a must in the game is because of the levels and more so the hard levels. You see the companions provide a perfect balance for levels, be it that for example, while the player focuses on getting spiders, the companion responsible for the flowers can help them check that off the list, making the gameplay more relaxed and not overload the player with information.
I would also like to point out that the removal of animal companions may have long-term consequences, such as making some levels (more so hard ones) into Rancid level type difficulty. As seen in the many threads of the website, many have complained about the Rancid levels, to the point you had to remove them, because Rancid is just that annoying to deal with and the levels were crafted to be that hard. Removing the companions may have the same effect for hard levels, especially for the ones that are 2000+ into it and they start to really slow down dou to the levels being crafted to be hard.
To come back to the animals and Farm Club as a whole, my suggestions for how we can keep them, while not having to keep making new ones are these:
If the devs are adamant on not having the animal levels back, maybe have the stage have specific tasks the player can finish in order to gain the animal this provides the replayability or any level from the stage the animal belongs to but also doesn't have to mean you have to change the layout of the animals you collected or the rewards you get from them.
And with the stages now having more replay value than ever, players can focus more on them even after they finish all the levels in that stage, as some may want to focus more on (for example) the race mechanic before they collect every animal they can get in that stage. That way not only will the game be more enjoyable to play, but also possess a trait that almost, if not no Match 3 game has, which is again replayability.
I do hope at the end of the day that the devs are doing all right despite the work, and i wish you a fruitful endeavor in your work, aldou i wish the Farm Club can be saved it is ultimately the devs decision if they want to keep it or not.
