Are you connecting through Facebook?
There is an issue where requests are not being returned to us. I have it a lot too. I don't get lives but I get everyone elses requests, which I send back but they don't get them 😥
The trouble is Facebook needs to fix it.

Same person asks for lives. I give her lives and don't get any in return. I ask for lives and don't get any.

Sadly @Grumpy_Old_Man and @teserbug this is an escalation of an ongoing issue.
However as the studio are getting a lot of reports they are investigating.
If its just one player, yes its likely to be them. If they are just on for games, I would remove and replace with someone else.
However if its not, its Facebook. Have a look at this link and just make sure that your connections and app is active, and if its multiple friends, then hang in there. I know it is a bigger problem than usual, as you said Grumpy, this has been going on for a long long time and its down to it not connecting fully on fb side, so it eats the requests, But this has escalated 😥 I know personally I send all requests back but they are not reaching anyone, neither from the friends list or in teams and when you have over 800 games friends, a quick refresh and there should be some waiting but nope.

here are some recent test results for sending lives
1) it appears that facebook does not work at all ... am not sure if it affects every player
2) king.com shows promise ... it works randomly ... one result - 2 lives were returned when 4 were requested

@abe_coffee the original issue was Facebook...
However, they are having more reports now which is why they are looking into it.
fyi, I do not have an accept all on King.com. Ever. Never have.
I didn't list testers as that includes every one of my playing friends as they are having the same issues plus members in my facebook group. Plus the fact it seems you're not getting any team requests either.
Also, non king games are having problems too 😊

thanks for the info
team requests are a bit different
when 5 are requested, then only 2 or 3 are received ... similar to how king.com is working
it might be helpful if the studio knows that king.com has issues too
conclusion ... king needs to look at their code too
