Why am i on an older version?

I never seem to receive any updates and when I check in it always says I'm on an older version, and when I go to websites to get help on passing a certain level and watch the video walk through its always a different version than mine.. I don't see anywhere where you can update, how do you update, and I certainly don't want to loose my placein the level I'm at. Thanks
