Connection to Facebook via app vs browser

Playing the farm heroes saga as an app on ipad, so far it connected to facebook via the facebook app and everything worked fine. Now after one of the latest updates, the game keeps connecting to facebook via a browser, in my case safari, prompting to eneter username and password every time. Can this be fixed somehow by going back to connecting to facebook via the facebook app? Or at least letting the user choose?
