No growth and bonuses on Kindle fire 8? I got nothing since starting playing?

A fellow player gave me a growth help and nothing happened. I beat Rancid a few times and got nothing. If there's no reason for me to play these things why bother? Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong or I just don't get any of this on my Kindle
