Pet Rescue game lost me progress.

I have been playing the Mystery Quest on Pet Rescue. I was down to the LAST quest, then I can resume playing the game without buying gold bars. When the wait time was over, I logged on to play my final quest, but it started me back at the beginning. I hope this isn't some ploy to get people to purchase more gold bars. This makes me regret ever buying them because now I feel pegged as some kind of sucker. Regardless, I'm still waiting the extra time to play, this is not fair play.
