Weather Alert, level 8....glitch?

So I have had problems with this level, therefore played it many times (haha).  As I play I watched what happens to the cages with animals in them.  I expect any that are full to be lost, but numerous times I feel jilted out of my pet.  If I have used bombs to break the cage down to the last stage and it is above one or two coloured blocks and I use either a bomb or the rocket I loose the pet every time.  Again, the cage is in its last stage.  Then in a complete contradiction, when I used the rocket on three cages at different stages (top with a pet) the pet is saved...this makes no sense, the rocket should get rid of one stage of the cage, not all.  I think there is a glitch since there is no rhyme or reason to when a caged pet is saved or lost...according to my experiences in previous games (I am caught up waiting for more levels...)

Would you happen to have the option of either record or take screenshots of the error you have?

I've checked here on King Care but you're the only one describing this issue so not really sure why the level plays different on your computer.
