You don't have to play the promotions if you don't want. You can just play the normal game. 

The promos normally say what the rewards are when it starts so make sure you read the pop-ups.

I know that.! I CAN and DO read any info there. To answer your comment stated above there is no incentive to play this challenge against friends. Also there is NO popups, no reward as stated and certainly no point in having this as a challenge.

Just noticed you DO need to accept the challenge. There is no x to close the popup .. only OK Waste of time just to get you to play more often.
