Question about future stars

While I'm waiting on a new level to come, I go back and play older levels that have only 1 or two stars. I thought that it would add to the rescue race. I'm asking is it suppose to add to the rescue race counting with the stars I already have. If so then right now I just added to the 1 star I had on two game and brought it up to the 3 stars. I watched has it showed it going to the count up in the left hand corner of the game. I then looked at the count by the star in the middle of the screen with the surprise pink box and the counter didn't move. Please let me know if it is suppose to and if not, then I will not go back and try and add extra stars. I'll wait for the new level for 2638. Thanks

In Rescue Race you will need to play your current level to get the stars counted in the challenge.
This challenge is to focus on the players that not yet have reached the last level and to encourage them to progress in the game.
If you are out of levels in this game, please check the new updated and pawsome version, Pet Rescue Puzzle and continue rescuing the pets there are well. You find it in both Google Play Store and App Store.
