What happened to my 7 lives?

I've enjoyed having 7 lives for the past few weeks/months.. Today it has gone back to 5. What has changed? I was llaying offline for a long time, was that it?

The 7 Lives feature just like the Lives suddenly reloading in 15 or 30 minutes instead of 5 is as an A/B testing. 

Meaning it's a feature that is being tested for a small group of players to see how it works before introducing this to all players. Before a new feature is implemented or before major changes are made in the game, it will always get A/B tested first. 

Therefore these features may disappear or get tweaked since the test period is always a limited amount of time.
