Why can't I get lives from friends

When I try to ask friends for lives I can't because it shows that two friends have given me lives already but when I tried to collect them I get an error message. those two lives won't clear out and I can't collect them.

Good evening and welcome to the community. Have you tried logging out, completely closing the game (swiping it out the background too), rebooting your device and reopening the game?

Are you playing connected to Facebook? Have you tried removing the game from Facebook then opening the game again and clicking on log in with Facebook? It will reset permissions.
