First check for app update first and then, provided you have a fb account or king account please log out, restart device and wait a couple of minutes, log in and clear a level to see if your game is connected to the server.

Though, I'm not sure what do you mean by pet game in candy crush jelly. Do you mean Birthday Bash/Odus the owl challenge?

If you want to try uninstall and install steps, you have your gold bars are saved/transfered but all of the boosters have lost and some events will be reset and gone.
By the way, their team is still testing this new feature that's means it's still not complete to be fixed to everyone mostly.
