Red block in daily challenge

I was doing the daily challenge and a red outline was on the board. I had a match on it, did it and it didn't register that I clicked it. What does it mean? And why didn't it accept that I made a match? Thanks.

Play from the right until you reach the red square.

Hi @brandyw78

The red square indicates where your final match needs to be made. The level will not be complete unless it is included in the last match you make on this board.

I figured, but why didn't it accept the match? I literally tried 3 times from all available sides and it didn't work.
