The unlimited lives are continuously running, so from the moment you win/purchase them the clock will start counting. If you close the app then the clock will still count down so they won't save.

Can you not just scroll up and play the level? Does it not work for you?

Clear your browser cache and restart it. Or delete game from Facebook and add it again. See if this works :)

The game finished ages ago so I guess it's classed as an old game. There were only around 450 levels so not that many to really keep it going.
