I only half read it I guess. I was just going by the player cards posted. In that case what is the error is that the player cards are not updated very often so never go by the player cards to assess other players' progress in live leaderboard competitions.

The blue candies collected in the Star Tournament do count for the winter cup. I very much doubt that any critters will show up in Star Tournament levels. The horrible snowstorm events obviously only show up at the end of regular episodes.
