There are portals but it might take too long for the sugar coats to drop from them. The magic mixers produce lots of sugar coats, so if you avoid destroying those too early it should be possible to get enough for the order.

Yes, a lot of players have complained about this event. It takes 1620 (!) levels to earn the 300 gold prize! It's ridiculous.
