Background to World Standards Day

On October 14, 1946, delegates from 25 countries decided in London to create an international organization to facilitate standardization.

The motto 2021 of World Standards Day is written

"The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to address social imbalances, develop a sustainable economy and slow down climate change, are very ambitious. ... The intense fight against a persistent global pandemic has shown that it is absolutely necessary to address the SDGs in an inclusive way to strengthen our societies and make them more resilient and equitable. .. The entire system of standards is based on cooperation. It is a testament to the power of cooperation and the conviction that we are stronger than the sum of our parts. By working together, we provide people with real-world solutions that allow them to directly address the challenges of sustainability." Source; translated as www.DeepL.com..
