Ok so I wasn't going to post anything I was just going to go with whatever. But the longer I sit and think about this the madder I get 🤬. I know there are so many on here that have made true amazing friends from all over the world. This is the only way that we had to communicate with each other. Facebook is not a option for so so many of us players. We have no platforms in which we can communicate with each other. So my opinion and I am saying this is my opinion because I don't want someone to tey and reply to my comment. My opinion is when we have contest, threads opened up, etc these types of things because we have no other way to communicate then players are going to be going way off topic with wanting to comment back and forth with each other. Players are going to be making threads in which each other will be able to communicate with each other due to the fact it's going to be the only way they can communicate. I know players who have made such good friends on here is not going to lose contact with each other so therefore they will communicate through the community in space that is made for contest and other such things. I have made friends on here and I have one that I can truly say has became my best friend. I am the type I don't get out into the world and make friends at home here I stay at home or go to work I don't socialize with anyone outside my home unless its family. I WILL NOT lose communication with my friends and my best friend on here if I have to find ways to communicate I WILL. To me my opinion is this is the worst idea that has ever been implemented. We as a community will lose so many players and not have anyone to play the games, play contest, make threads, we will have no one to even keep the community open for. So my opinion is that this idea should be reconsidered. Think of all the consequences and repercussions of this idea. All because of 10 out of 500 acting like they do the 500 that obey rules is being punished and it's not right. We have blocking for a reason if someone is bullying then we have block buttons to hit so they can't contact us. Those 10 are sitting back laughing and saying we have accomplished what we set out to do. That is to destroy the fun for the 500. They have completely destroyed everything that was good about this community because now we have players so many players that are mad and walking away because they have no reason to stay now. The bullies are so proud that they have broke up so so many friendships due to no way of communicating. They are proud that the fact is these repercussions does not affect them at all. I am so mad because I am one of the 500 this is affecting. Because the bullies have succeeded in destroying the community I now will have no way of communicating with my friends or best friend. All I'm asking is please reconsider what this is doing to the community and find another way of doing things. We also have so many teams on here that are in game and in contest and now they will have no way of communicating and helping and supporting each other. I am on one of the best dachs teams there is. My friends in our dachs team group chat are the most supporting, considerate, caring, encouraging, and helpful friends in the community. We all as a group help build each other up and talk about life problems as well as game problems and we help each other deal with things that are stressing us out so bad. But because of the bad eggs we are the ones that is getting the worse end of the deal. We are the ones being punished and yes it feels like we are being punished. I have now said my peace and I am praying that the idea of what your doing will be withdrawn and something else be put in place don't punish us all because of a few bad eggs 🤬

I honestly don't know what their 'technical issues' are that led to this decision, but if it's about storage, there are a number of options -- including deleting all private messages older than a specified age (60 or 90 days seems reasonable). Additionally it would seem that the numerous 'reply with a heart' or 'make a word' or whatever threads that are mainly to build up people's post counts could be discouraged and deleted.
If it's something other than storage as some have implied, such as one or more community members abusing them, then frankly the reasonable way to address that is to punish the abusers and either remove their PM privileges or remove them from the community entirely rather than punish us all for the bad actions of a few.
Frankly I'm praying that the studio revisits and revises this decision so I'm not taking any hasty actions to remove apps or delete community profiles yet .. Instead, I'm speaking my mind on the issue and hoping to have some influence through reasoned discussion. The apps have enough issues of their own and the 'community' aspect of the game (team goals, maintaining friends lists, sending and receiving lives and communicating with your team and friends) are already threadbare at best if they function at all. Taking away the last vestige of support of this from the 'community' site seems to be a bad decision, at least in my mind.

I'm another of those who don't and never will have Facebook, because.I simply don't trust it. I exchange PMs with a number of friends and that is our only method of contact. I have received some PMs which.I consider to be offensive or improper, but I simply ignore them.
Since losing the International Corner, I also try to help some of those not of English mother tongue through PMs, when I can see from their posts that they are having difficulties even in understanding that they need to use translation.programme - and I want them to be part of the Community.
The PM is a very valuable and essential tool, especially for team contests as @dananelle and @KCullen127 say and it would certainly be a pity to lose it, as it would also isolate a lot of people.
If the problem is server capacity, the deletion of older PMs and some off-topic threads (hundreds of pages each) should certainly help, as @sharkeymw suggests.
