Hello Elena

Previously, duplicate accounts were prohibited. It was a big issue at
the time as SU had duplicate accounts and the CMs knew it.
That's why many players and SU left.
Now they are allowed again.

Good morning

As you know, I always think a lot. Now I had this thought: The
community is a part of real life.
Here they always say: “stay on topic”. Only this doesn't work
properly. Even in real life, you move from one topic to another because
it is somehow related to the first topic.
You drift away from it, so to speak.
You can't define it that way. It's like choppy. So to speak, the
players have to stop what they want to say and start something new.
It's really very difficult. It's better to let the players speak.
Because you can say a lot about what the player says.
You notice more and more that the house rules are becoming superfluous.
I've been in other communities. There was nothing like that there.
They just said that they shouldn't offend. That was all before posting
there.
I would prefer this one. Even I don't like these house rules.
The players read them and then leave. Or it won't be read at all.
It's better to talk to each other and you can achieve a lot more that
way.
I always say: “Talking is the be-all and end-all”.
Maybe there will be some good consideration here. It would be very
helpful.🙌

@Spinnifix I totally agree. How can newbies figure out how to navigate in the community if they are always told to stay on topic when they ask a valid question even though it's not related to the thread? Helpful members are learning about trying to help this lost new member for fear that they took will be told to stay on topic. This is where the PM came in handy. Many of us would private message the lost newbie and help them out. @me6412 care to put your thoughts to this thread?

We have had 3 different house rules over the years.
2 house rules from 2018 in Alphabetty and a little later the 2 house
rules ran at the same time. You could see it officially. This was
misleading. I also liked the house rules from 2018.
Okay, it also said that capital letters are forbidden: it would cause
screaming and these were edited a lot. I didn't think it was okay.
That's why I argued against this plan.
Since it is archived, you could read it again and compare.

Aphabetty was a word game and it existed here. This was also available
as a browser game from King. You know the browser games have been
removed. That's what the apps were for. Yes, the pun was one of them.

I come with a critical question!

Do we want new members to stay and be "engaged" with the Community?

Do we want the Community to be a friendly place for them, or our "goal" is for new members to:

• Come, ask for a question and leave regardless if they got a helpful answer or not!
• Come, post their screenshot for a milestone badge and leave regardless if they don't know that a milestone badge practically means nothing for a member who is not "engaged" with the Community!

I wait for some answers first and then I have to tell you a bit more!

I can say that
I have been there and helped the players for 5 years. The play areas
have changed, but I still help where and how I can.
The players know it from Candy Jelly. That's where I do.
That's why I've also put ideas and suggestions here.
I don't discard any player I like. No, with me every player is treated
equally.🤗

It would be nice to have offers. There used to be so many events from
the players and they came up with a lot of ideas.
Unfortunately there is nothing left of it. You could give an
entertainment title to players who can do such events. The players
would then be accepted and would have an assignment. then the players
would come back.

Hey @Nikolaos_Prodromidis not only do we want new members to stay, we NEED new members to stay. So many long time contributing members have left the community. If not many new people enter, then what becomes of our beloved community? Also new members bring great creative ideas with them.

I think this is a good discussion thread and I hope many members that read your post will come by to express their own opinion about what brought us here in the first place. What made some leave and what is making some to stay.
*I remember during Covid, I accidentally logged out of the game and I didn’t know how to get back. I placed the question and I got an answer “First, Sign into The community in order to help you” At that moment, I didn’t know that a Community Site existed… And I did it. I created an account and signed in.
And there was @Spinnifix ready to help me solve my problem. 💗 That made me stay! Along the way, I also got so much help from other players when I needed it. Including you, Niko!
Some left already…. 😞
There have been many times that I wanted to leave the Community but I prefer for now not to go into details of my many reasons why…

I think the main idea of new members visiting here for the first time is to get help and to participate in contests that offer rewards. Not necessarily to stay engaged.
But if they notice that this is a nice place where they feel welcomed, acknowledged, treated equally, and that they get the help they need, I am sure they will choose to stay engaged. 😉
