As we approach the 10th anniversary of Candy Crush, this year has seen one of its most fascinating characters, Denize the dragon, spend more time out of Lemonade Lake. If anyone isn't aware, she does have legs and there have been a few official complete pictures of her. As I hope for more, I'm sharing some fun fan art that shows her completely, legs and all. Enjoy!

Hello @snakegore999 your artwork is really cool. I especially like the Pumpkin Party picture as your choice of costume shows great imagination.

You are a fantastic artist @snakegore999! Welcome to our community! Thanks for tagging me @Alienscar !
Most definitely you need to see the Art Nook. I would love to see what else you have done.

Ok @snakegore999 I am on my computer now so let me check a couple of things for you. brb.......... I see that there is no way to start a message in the Art Nook so here is my suggestion. Post your art work in the Players' Corner HERE and @Minatozaki who is the community manager for the Art Nook can transfer it there for you. You can tag me in your message by using the '@' symbol and then my name. A box will open and you can click on my name and it will turn it into bold text. I will get the tag and I can also tag her there for you too. Depending on where you live I am in the USA so I'm 6 hours behind the King community. She won't get this tag or your message in the Art Nook until the morning.

@Queen_Elsa @Minatozaki This post was intended for the Art Nook, but a permission issue prevented me from posting it there. Please transfer this post to the Art Nook ASAP!
I have some cool Halloween fan art to submit, but I can't put it in Lola_Pop's Halloween Art contest at the Art Nook because it's about real cosplay, which is not what this post is about. My art is specifically about what two characters from Candy Crush Saga, Odus and Denize, would dress up as for the Pumpkin Party. In my wildest dreams, I imagine them dressing as a bumblebee and a giant potted snapdragon, respectively, as shown here:
Originally, I was going to make a costume for just Denize, since she's the most interesting character in the game. She looks like a huge thorny, carnivorous plant, with the spikes down her snaky spine and long jagged jaws that mostly comprise her head, but I thought about that a bit and decided to go with a more punny costume: she goes from being a dragon to being a snapdragon, transcending the line between animal and plant.
To further sell the illusion that she's a big plant, I made her wear a flowerpot. Then I had to do some research about snapdragons and what they looked like to make the costume as biologically accurate as possible. First, the flower of a snapdragon can open and close like the jaws of a dragon. To reflect that, Denize would wear a two-piece mask that nicely fits over each of her two jaws, with holes that expose her eyes and snout. The front of this mask would have the petals to make Denize's head look more like the flower. I thought having her wear the petals around the neck would suffice, but a further look at real-life snapdragons forced me to go back to the drawing board.
I also had to get the stem to look right as Denize wears it as a green bodysuit that covers every part of her body except her head, hands and legs. The upper part of a snapdragon's stem has plenty of buds, so I had to likewise stud the upper part of the bodysuit with them, stopping just below the chest. The lower half of a snapdragon's stem is decked out with leaves, and so I coated the belly part of the bodysuit with plenty of big leaves down to the soil of the "flowerpot" she wears.
Denize wears the flowerpot right over her pelvis. The flowerpot has a hole punched out on the side for her tail, and the bottom is removed to allow her legs to stick out, letting her walk to a comfortable degree while wearing the costume. One interesting feature about this costume is that if Denize crouches low enough or sits down, her feet would disappear into the flowerpot, adding further to the illusion that she's a big plant in a stationary position. While this would normally make it difficult for her to bend her body around without tipping over, she can overcome this problem by using her prehensile tail to anchor herself to a fixed structure.
After discovering that bumblebees interact with snapdragons, I decided that I would also have to throw in Odus wearing a bumblebee costume to go with Denize's snapdragon costume. This works wonderfully since he's a very small flyer and he has a recent history with doing activities together, if this year's Ice Cream Games and the Gummy Gala are of any indication. I also have both of them carrying their own thematically appropriate candy baskets, which would be a small cartoony honeypot for Odus (since bumblebees carry honey) and a yellow watering can for Denize (since plants need water to grow and Denize's favorite color is surmised to be yellow because she likes lemonade).
I hope you found this to be very interesting! Comment below on your thoughts on these awesome character costumes.
