Loosing my bubbles because I'm taking too long deciding my best course of action? WTH !!

To the best of my knowledge we have never been put on a time limit while deciding were to shot next. What is the time limit, 3 seconds? I've lost 2-3 bubbles immediately, so what is the limit to the number of bubbles taken from you when the time limit is hit? I don't like this new rule, it takes away from the relaxing part of my game play. Sometimes I skip the levels that timed play are involved until I'm ready to get jacked up and nervous! I haven't noticed a time limit when using the bubbles on any levels. Are there timed levels later on in the game?

Is there a feature that indicates there is a time limit?
