I tried updating BW3S on my phone, but nothing happened. Anyway, it's ok, I am used to the little Green Haired Assassin of Joy, with her smirky face! She's kind of comforting now, not like that sneaky Volpe character! 😁

I have the same concerns as you about the Community. Seeing those high levels has only made me slow down rather than spurring me on to clear more levels - and now with that event in my game ..... As @Lemurtek said, boredom rather than enjoyment is now the order of the day.
