Adding friends outside of FB

I'm playing BWS3 on my iPhone n I've connected to FB. My mom also plays on her phone (android) but she doesn't have FB but we both have google so I went into add friend and selected her thru my gmail. But its still not working. She gets the invite but it's to download the game that she already has but when we go to the game there are no new friends or friend requests.. anyone help us??

Has she connected her email to a Kingdom account instead then? If not just create her a quick FB account (I've made a separate account just to connect my games ), that way she'll be able to sync and save her progress and will be able to befriends each other, she doesn't need to actually use the FB account, just a means to an end.

I would still like to get some help in this.. it seems silly that if u send someone a invite to be friends all it really is is an invite to download the game, when we already have the game it won't connect us as friends. So frustrating been trying for a few weeks now.... help?!?!
