There was a glitch in the most recent update to Candy Crush Friends Saga, but it appeared to only affect players by causing all of their boosters to disappear. It did not appear to affect special events. Sometimes, you only need to play a level (old or new) to get the event to reappear. Alternatively, do you have the option of playing on a different device? If you play on Facebook, you will find a discussion in our Support section about a current issue with that platform
