Thank you for the reply- but this is not what I am doing. Would have been nice to get suggestions why this is happening. Acquired gold bars no longer remain - and I continually drop down to "2"

No clue why you'd be losing gold bars after updates. Never encountered that issue yet, that's a new one to me. I and many others have lost gold bars hitting "tap to continue" after ranking up on the Mastery level screens. To get your user ID, you must go to your profile page, looks like this:
Then, double click the King logo up top and your user ID will appear. Looks like this after clicking logo:
