The higher the levels, the harder it is to get through. Out of 15 levels in an episode race, they make at least 10 or sometimes more, to try and get through. They're all the words you described as far as how hard the levels are. If you don't have any gold bars, you're either going to have to be very lucky or not be able to advance.

I have never seen the blank screen that you show on your first screenshot either.

That is not a blank screen, the lower part under the word “Level 4172” is appearing while the time I take this photo. This screenshot shows that you have to enter into a level before everything starts popping up.

The second and third screenshots show that the flying objects appear one by one after I have entered into a level ( the black arrow), this means you have to enter into a level faster than everything.

I usually press the Play icon once it appears and then play the next level, so I will not see any flying objects in the background. This time I don’t press the Play icon immediately because I want to use second and third screenshots to show that you must enter into a level before everything pop up.
