I have never seen the blank screen that you show on your first screenshot either.
That is not a blank screen, the lower part under the word “Level 4172” is appearing while the time I take this photo. This screenshot shows that you have to enter into a level before everything starts popping up.
The second and third screenshots show that the flying objects appear one by one after I have entered into a level ( the black arrow), this means you have to enter into a level faster than everything.
I usually press the Play icon once it appears and then play the next level, so I will not see any flying objects in the background. This time I don’t press the Play icon immediately because I want to use second and third screenshots to show that you must enter into a level before everything pop up.

As I said to Peaches somewhere down this page:
If old levels count and if they are not penalised then the only sensible way for anyone to play this so-called leaderboard event would be to replay level 1000 until your fingers ache. I do not know of any level, old or new, which gives more purple per minute of play. So I hope this is not how the Valentine event will be run because putting everyone on equal footing like that would make the entire competition pointless because all it would measure is who has to most time to waste crushing one level repeatedly and who has the youngest fingers to do so. Count me out if that's the case.
Difficulty of levels
Hello, why does the difficulty change in the same game? From difficult, it goes to super difficult, nightmare goes to legendary. I think I'm going to end up not playing anymore. Because this has happened several times.
