I am currently on level 492 and had accumulated 600 of 600 sugar drops. Now they are gone

There was never a way to claim a prize and always went to "next". Then I received a message that the sugar drop mode had to "cool off" and it would be over 3 hours before they would start up again. Now I see that they have begun again but I am back to 1 out of 48. What happened to my 600 sugar drops?
