Trouble with Candy Crush Saga connecting to Facebook/getting messages on iPhone

The last week I have been having trouble connecting to Facebook with Candy Crush on my phone. It says I am connected but I haven't been receiving messages from friends (lives/extra moves) and the trophy message doesn't appear. Also all of the boosters I earned/bought have disappeared. I have tried logging out and back into facebook, closing and reopening the app, updating the app, my phone's software is up to date and I am connected to wifi. I'm not sure what else I can try?

Have you tried playing the game on King.com?
Go to King.com and login. To sync your King.com account with your Facebook progress just follow these steps:
1) Click on Settings
2) Choose Account
3) Enter your password
4) Click on Synchronizing/ Connect to Facebook
5) Click on the two arrows
Once done your progress is synchronized and you should be able to progress without issues.
