Messages are blank after update

Just updated Candy Crush on iPhone and although my inbox says I still have all my messages (lives from friends) 4 out of every 5 are blank and I cannot use them

Hey Spacky10- are you able to check the messages on Facebook on your PC? If not, then try force closing your apps and restarting your phone. Let me know how you get on.
