what is the trophy for??

i have been seeing a trophy tab every time i going to my messages for extra lives. the trophy tap is inactive for me. my friend asked me if i was playing the mission to get 3000 green candy pieces but i didnt know what she was talking about.
so my question is why isnt my trophy section active, and what do i have to do to get it active? its been there for month but completely inactive.

As far as I understand it, it's where you will receive information about any current live ops or special events that are going on. But judging from past events, they aren't always rolled out to everyone, you either get it or you don't and there seems to be nothing that can be done about it (as far as I am aware).
