Candy crush reduces more lives than I actually use

Once I use my original 5 lives, I get more from my saved lives that have been sent by friends on candy crush. I will check to use 2 lives & my lives count hoes down more than 2. Say I have 10 lives, I check to use 2, my remaining lives should be 8, but are showing 3 or more less left. It's leaving me with less than I use.

It's because the maximum amount of lives that you can have is 5, no matter how many lives you accept, the game will not allow you to have more than 5 at one time. This is why when you think you have 10 and you use 2, you have 3 left, because you started at 5. I hope this helps
