After my last update more than 60 saved lives disappeared and new lives from friends are not loading

Why did my previous lives disappear and why aren't my new lives sent from friends loading now that I updated to the latest version of the game?

    It's quite common for the locally stored items to be wiped before updating as they don't get synced to a server. At least on mobile messages with lives can be stored for a short while, on FB any unopened messages disappear when the game is closed.If you're not getting messages since the update it might be worth disconnecting your Facebook from the game and reconnect it from fresh.
