Not receiving requests

I have friends sending me requests, i.e., lives, extra moves and I am not receiving any of them. My messages say '0' and there is a red circle with an exclamation point. I have deleted the app and restarted my phone. Still doesn't work. Tried contacting King with no answer. Any suggestions?

Did you check for updates for your device and all it's apps? Also revise your Facebook settings in regards to permissions for your apps to send notifications on your behalf.
