Unable to get messages from Facebook despite being connected a few times with no results

For several weeks now I have been unable to receive messages from Facebook friends. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting Facebookquite a few times and I have deleted and reinstalled Candy Crush with no results. I have checked my wifi connection and looked for updates all of which are okay. It is becoming increasingly frustrating to receive notifications and not get them in the game. Please help it's driving me mad!

I have the same question AND I received my third Request from a Friend to unlock the next level and it took 36 hours for it to be credited. I had to wait for 36 hours to advance. Why have these stupid requirements and then when the user accomplishes them, you say Screw You, you can wait until we're ready to pass you along.
