Update malfunction

I play Candy Crush both through Facebook and on my Kindle Fire.  Last week, my Kindle began trying to download an update for Candy Crush, but it would never complete it.  In addition, it messed up the whole game so that it was always trying to download and wouldn't work offline.  I couldn't even delete it from my Kindle.  Finally, last night, I deleted it through my Amazon Kindle page and then downloaded it again.  Sadly, I had no idea that I would lose my power ups and accumulated lives that I had saved (over 100 lives and many power ups)!  I thought those were stored with the account.  Please tell me that there is some way to get these back.  Thank you.

Messages and booster are device specific and only  get saved to the device itself so if you reinstall, you will wipe them. It's only gold and progress which is possible to sync and access on different devices.
