Wrappers not exploding when fish eat them, was this a glitch?

I was playing on level 280 in the non-owl-special section, and when i finally broke a rainbow piece with a wrapper piece, it had transformed all of the same colors as the wrapper all into wrappers. (So the wrapper was purple, so it changed all the purple pieces into wrappers as well, which was awesome!). By chance some of the fishes got popped too, so when a whole bunch of these fishes came, they targeted all of the purple wrappers I had created! leaving just one left behind! I guess because they were purple fishes, they targeted anything that was purple, and since all of the purple ones turned into purple wrappers, they ate those... but what i'm confused about is that when they ate all my freakin wrappers... they didn't explode the wrappers! They just stole them like they were a regular candy piece.. which confuses me because when they eat the striped candy pieces, it activates their row deleting abilities... so i feel like this was a glitch or something in that level.

Honestly, it's difficult to say. The booster explosions can do what they want sometimes I think. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you passed the level and you're getting on with your game then it's all good. Just keep an eye out for it in the future.
