What's up with the treasure chests???

It's not often I see the treasure chests, so I was excited to have them in this latest episode.  However, I would complete the levels the chests were on (and beyond), and the treasure chests just disappeared!  No bonus items...just treasure chest gone.  What a bummer!!!
