How do I link my current progress to a Facebook or King.com account?

I've always played Candy Krush Saga on my Android tablet without using a Facebook or King.com account. Since the last update of Candy Krush Saga version 1.84.0.3 the game has become extremely slow and unresponsive. Trying to navigate to a level in order to play it takes more than 10 minutes and usually results in a crash or complete system hang.
Fortunately, Candy Krush Saga allows you play the game on your PC via Facebook or King.com. But since I never linked my game progress to a Facebook or King.com account I am unable to continue playing on the PC from the point where I was on my tablet.
The solution, as stated in various topics posted on this website, suggests to sign up with a King.com or Facebook account from within the Candy Krush Saga app on the tablet where all my current progress is saved. I should then be able to continue playing on the PC with the account I just created in the Candy Krush Saga app on my tablet.
The problem is that I cannot sign up with a Facebook or King.com account from within the Candy Krush Saga app on my tablet because the Candy Krush Saga app will never show/pop up the on-screen keyboard after I select the green pencil icon on the white input field where I should enter my e-mail account/Facebook account information. I can see the cursor blinking in the white input field but even waiting for over an hour the on-screen keyboard is never shown.
An alternative solution that I've tried is to make a backup of the Candy Krush Saga app data from my tablet and copy it to my Android phone in order to try to sign up with a Facebook or King.com account from the Candy Krush Saga app installed on my phone. Unfortunately, this did not work because I couldn't get the Helium app on my tablet (to make the backup) successfully connect to my PC.
Is there any possible way, given the problems I've described in this post, to link my current Candy Krush Saga game progress from my Android tablet to a Facebook or King.com account?
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome and very much appreciated.

You should see the Facebook logo and also the Kingdom logo when you first click on the settings button. They are just underneath the pink section where the settings cog is. If you click on the orange icon you can create the Kingdom account to save your game and transfer it anywhere
