In Candy Crush Saga, how do you get back boosters lost when the game malfunctions?

I used three boosters to start level 1969, played a few moves, then used 2/3 more hammers on the spawner and the spawner froze as a color with a hand in it. You could not get the usual movement of colors after that. How do I get King to replace my lost boosters? I had to use more boosters to pass later on.
