Loss of gold bars.

I was playing the game earlier today and after I had failed to clear a level and had no more goes left, I tried to close the game down and return to Facebook but for some reason 19 gold bars have gone missing, I did have 30 but now only 11. As far as I am aware I made no purchase on any boosters or something else whilst closing the game.
