I passed level 16 but a new game pop up covers icon 17 - can't slide the screen up far enough to get out from under it. Have clicked on the new game thinking once I had X'd it out it would go away - no such luck. Frustrating...
Can you not scroll around on the map to uncover it at all? Maybe another option is to go to the previous level and instead of going back to the map, click next to continue to the level.
