Why don't the striped candies created at end of level, for moves not used, count toward the contests

For the striped candy contests, why don't the "end of level" stripes count? (We get 1 striped candy for every unused move after passing a level.)

Hi Shellboats!
I think it's the way the contest was originally created - those extra striped candies are generated randomly by the game and not created by your gameplay.
