Why does my Candy Crush Saga suddenly pause 3 to 4 times every time a booster activates?

For the last 3 weeks or so my Candy Crush Saga suddenly pauses every time a game loads, and 3 to 4 times each whenever a booster (striped, wrapped, color bomb, etc.) activates? These pauses each last about 30 seconds. I am in FaceBook Gameroom when I use it, but it first started happening at about level 400 (and always since then), and it never happens when I am playing my 8 or 9 other games in FB Gameroom.
