Special event notifications

Please stop doubling up the notifications on special events!!!!!!!!!!  Yup, I noticed it the first time it popped up on my screen, I do not need to see it again.  When there are multiple events happening, twice on everything gets bloody annoying!  Knock it off!!!!!!!!!
